If you want a thin and light laptop that runs on battery for a long time, this is the ideal laptop for you. This laptop is available with the new Intel Ultra 5 and a faster Intel Ultra 7 version.

TOPPER: with the new generation Intel Ultra CPU. This 16 inch laptop is almost the same size in outer dimensions as a 14 inch model, only it is wider and has a full numeric keypad. This is due to the very thin edges at the top of the screen.

Coreboot aims for minimalism: it contains only the necessary functionality for a fast boot. The open source coreboot firmware is an alternative to the outdated BIOS and the more modern UEFI, both of which are closed source. The additional price for Coreboot is added to the net price that we pay because of the higher purchase price for the laptop model that supports Coreboot, the development costs of Coreboot and the flashing of the BIOS/EUFI and EC chip.

But which version (Linux distribution / distro) should I choose?

Actually, the choice is very simple: 90% of our sales are with Linux Mint or Ubuntu. The customers who come over from Windows choose Linux Mint best. Ubuntu is then most chosen by customers who have worked with Linux before or who are used to working with Ubuntu Linux (45% choose Linux Mint and 45% choose Ubuntu). Elemenatary OS is usually chosen by customers coming over from Apple. The rest of the versions are almost never chosen and it is usually customers who choose that particular distribution out of their own conviction.
